North Yorkshire's Census results 2017

Once again, numbers 'generally' on the rise

theres always room for another

This from DAVID FORSTER, our County Secretary, who says: "The following extract gives an update on the County after this year’s 2017 Census, a summary of which has been circulated to Districts." 

Overall, total youth membership (including Scout Network) had increased from 6303 to 6392 (a rise of 0.9%).over a decade of growth

Of note, male youth membership had declined slightly by -0.5% whilst female membership had increased by 7.8%.

Adult members and supporters had increased from 1264 to 1360 (a rise of 7.6%).

As at 31 Jan 2017, the County recorded the following:

105 Beaver Scout Colonies (+1)
119 Cub Scout Packs (no change)
98 Scout Troops (-1)
48 Explorer Scout Units (+11)
12 Local Scout Networks (-1)
13 District Active Support Units (+4)
100 Scout Groups (-1)
13 Districts (no change)

The County Secretary wants to express his thanks to ALL District Appointment Secretaries, District Secretaries and District Treasurers for their stirling work in completing this year’s Census.
