CC's Commendation for Alan

1st Romanby Occasional Helper honoured

Below is a copy of a letter from the CC which accompanied the surprise award of a CC’s Commendation to Alan Gregg at the AGM of 1st Romanby Scout Group, Northallerton, on Monday 26 June.

Dear Alan

I am delighted to award you my personal commendation for your outstanding support, commitment and loyalty to Romanby Scout Group. Whilst an occasional helper, your assistance to the Group cannot be described in this way given the considerable contribution you make in supporting its adult leaders. It is only with support from members such as yourself that we can continue to deliver opportunities for adventure and skills for life to all our young members.

You never hold back in volunteering to support the Group, with any task or duty, and your positive contribution is appreciated greatly by your Group Scout Leader and his team who value your dedication and loyalty. As much as the uniformed leaders in the Group, you have proven to be a key member of the team and your support reflects exactly what Scouting is all about: commitment, dedication and a passion for helping and developing young people.

CCs commendationIn awarding you my personal commendation, I am expressing the thanks of not only the Romanby Scout Group and Northallerton District but also the North Yorkshire Scouting County. I very much hope that I have the opportunity to meet you in the near future and offer you my personal thanks for your enduring support. I am confident that the Group will continue to benefit from your outstanding support, whether as an occasional helper or maybe, in the future, as one of our uniformed leaders.

My sincere congratulations once again on this excellent achievement.

Well deserved Alan - keep up the good work!
