Liam from Whitby wins the U15 Class
This from Alan Holmes, our County Sailing Adviser (Windsurfing):
LIAM BOYCE, a young leader in Whitby (formerly a member of Eskmouth Sea Scouts) has just won the 'Under 15, single handed class' at the National Scout Sailing Regatta held at South Shields.
He had previously gained his Sailing Stage 4 badge whilst still in Cubs then gained the Plus and Instructor badges for sailing whilst in the Sea Scouts.
This year the Regatta was held at South Shields over the August Bank Holiday weekend (24th to 26th August 2018). Last year, in 2017, the event was at the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club.
The Regatta is a friendly event for Scouts, Explorers and Network members of The Scout Association, run late summer each year as a locally organised national event.
The age groups are Under 13, Under 15, Under 18 and Leaders/Network (over 18s).
Well done Liam for keeping the North Yorkshire flag flying!
