Want to be part of the celebrations?
GS90 – 90th Anniversary Gang Show - Plans are already being developed to look at how we celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Gang Shows in 2022.
Some of you may remember the events for previous anniversaries: 60th and 70th Anniversary Shows at the Wimbledon Theatre in 1992 and 2002. GS80 at the Birmingham Hippodrome in 2012. In each year members of Gangs from around the country met up to perform fantastic shows – and make long lasting friendships. For 2022 we are looking at producing a show in a London venue. But nothing is fixed yet.
There is a steering group set up:
Nigel Hailey and Ewan Murray – Joint Producers
Tony Guy – Business Director
Scott Marshall - Show Manager
To help plan the event they are looking for 4 people aged between 18 and 25 now to join the steering group. They would particularly like people with an interest in all elements of the show, production, business, promotion and organisation. They want to get input from them as soon as possible to shape the event. If you would like to apply you should be members of either the Scout or Guide movement, have good ideas and not be afraid to express an opinion!
The initial commitment is for 2 face to face meetings over the next year. The venue and dates for these meetings will be set based on the where people live and everyone’s availability. The first meeting is likely to be at the end of January, possibly Saturday 26th. After that it will depend on how the show develops and the role that they wish to take. They will pay reasonable expenses for these meetings.
