This day gives cubs the opportunity to experience a variety of water, earth and field activities
Activities will include a selection from the following: Bellboating, Dinghy Sailing, Open Canoeing, Climbing, Orienteering, Soft Air Shooting, Archery, Pioneering and big games.
Cubs who take part in all the activity sessions, will, subject to weather conditions, have covered their Time on the Water Badge and may have completed sections of the their Stage 1 Nautical skills, Paddlesport and Sailsport badges.
All Activity Equipment will be provided
Cubs must bring at least two sets of clothing to get wet in (clothes made of synthetic materials or thermals are best) and a pair of old trainers to wear along with a set of waterproofs (jacket and trousers) to keep the wind off. Any cub wearing jeans or wellingtons to go on the water will not be allowed to undertake the water activities. Remember, these clothes are in addition to those you need for the land based activities, where again you will need warm clothing , waterproofs, strong trainers, sun hat etc depending on the weather.
Do not forget a towel!
All groups must be accompanied throughout the day by a leader or other CRB checked responsible adult , to supervise during lunchtime, to assist the cubs during activity changeovers and to look after any cubs who withdraw from activities.
Cubs must indicate on the application form whether or not they can swim 50m. Non swimmers are not excluded from this event.
