17A090 Hill Walking Permit Assessment & Remote Lightweight Camping

North York Moors

This assessment is for both Terrain 1 and Terrain 2 permits and includes an overnight, lightweight wild country camp. On successful completion of the assessment, candidates will be able to undertake lightweight, remote camping expeditions within the restrictions of their permit.

Meet at Clay Bank car park on the B1257 Stokesley to Helmsley road (Grid Ref: NZ 572035) at 10:00AM on Saturday 16th. Finish will be approximately 10:30 AM on the 17th.

Candidates will require OS 1:25 000 map (Explorer OL26). They must be equipped for a night’s wild camp as an expedition leader. Candidates must camp; bivouacking will not be allowed. If conditions allow, there will be a night navigation exercise but this will be unassessed.

You will need to complete an application for this assessment via the online booking to system to secure a place and also send a completed Activity Permit Application form to County Office with any copies of logbook pages and relevant awards. Activity permit applications can be found on the Scout Association website under the activities menu in the “members” area. PLEASE NOTE: YOUR REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE CONFIRMED AND MAY BE CANCELLED UNLESS THE PERMIT APPLICATION AND PERSONAL LOG ARE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT
